Watts difference

I'm currently using my stages power crank along with my Kickr and the difference in output is roughly 40 watts (Kickr reading higher)do l use the watts offset to adjust? therefore is it +40 or -40?

This confuses me too.
Its the watts on the KICKR that are being offset, so if you want the kickr watts to be lower to match the powermeter, make it a negative number.
